Shanty

Sea shanty – Better At Home

The weather is stormy, the clouds are so dark.
Pull, pull, we’d be better at home.
If we don’t pull, we’ll be food for the shark.
Pull, pull, be better at home.

The scuppers are full of the water from the deck.
Pull, pull, we’d be better at home.
If we don’t knuckle down, we’ll never come back.
Pull, pull, be better at home.

Hurry up, sailors, take down the mainsail!
Pull, pull, we’d be better at home.
Otherwise it’s our downfall they’ll bewail.
Pull, pull, be better at home.

Cause if the tall mast breaks and drags us to ground,
Pull, pull, we’d be better at home.
none of our bodies will ever be found.
Pull, pull, be better at home.

Oh Johnny, it’s true, we were never best friends.
Pull, pull, we’d be better at home.
But I’ll have one with you if this helltrip well ends.
Pull, pull, be better at home.

When I was drunk I spat three times on hell.
Pull, pull, we’d be better at home.
But now I’m scared, this will be my last farewell.
Pull, pull, be better at home.
